Once you have selected the passes you want to look for and printed them out, you are ready to go outside and see the satellites. All you need for viewing is a relatively dark location and a comfortable chair. A pair of binoculars will help you see the dimmer satellites, especially if you are in or near a large city. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a city of almost 400,000 people, and I have viewed over 500 different satellites from my backyard.
To help you with your viewing, whether or not you use SatSpy for your predictions, we are happy to provide you with a free copy of our paper: Satellite Viewing Tips (set your browser to "save to file"). You can download it here or or you can get it by ordering SatSpy. Either way, it is loaded with tips for helping you spot the satellites you are looking for.
